Bootcamp

Note: As of 1/1/2012, no Bend bootcamps are scheduled.

Following is the general description along with logistics.

Overview note from Sam: Following is a formal summary but remember the Boot Camp will be informal!  Bend, Oregon IS a great place to visit, with over 300 sunny days per year and at an invigorating elevation of 3,500 feet. It’s dry on this east side of the Cascade Mountains! Bring your skiis, golf clubs, bicycles, kayaks, fishing poles, hiking boots, climbing gear or just hang out downtown and in Drake Park. There’s also great shopping and excellent dining. So, come to have fun with the bonus of going home with a dynamic new perspective on work AND life! The formal summary: How would it feel to wake in the morning relaxed, with no pressing urgencies and more money than you need? What if you could reduce your workweek to just a few hours, or propel yourself up the corporate ladder at a blistering pace? What if you could get what you want?

Sam Carpenter, author of the book Work the System: The Simple Mechanics of Making More and Working Less, whittled his 80 to 100-hour workweeks down to 2 hours and multiplied his income “beyond what is necessary.” With a blue-collar background, Sam struggled to hold things together until, after 15 years in business, he embraced and then applied certain fundamental business strategies. His methodology is common-sense, practical and simple and can be applied to any business or corporate department. The Work the System Boot Camp is presented with the sole intent of moving the participant from chaos to control; from barely getting by, to affluence. Anyone in any business can apply these strategies!

Launch your own business or department into an organized, efficient, profitable organism. Maximize your efficiency and productivity, and propel yourself far ahead of your competitors! Register for Sam’s life-changing, one day Work The System Boot Camp.

Why would you want to attend the Boot Camp? If you’ve read Sam’s book, Work the System: The Simple Mechanics of Making More and working Less, you will understand the thrust of the Boot Camp and what it can mean for your organization. Designed for the small business owner or corporate department manager, this two-day, intensive, intimate-group program goes to the heart of the WTS process. All elements of the methodology will be addressed with plenty of Q&A time and interaction with Sam. The Boot Camp will precisely guide you through the entire process from the “get it” phase, to implementing the methodology,  to training your staff to do the initial heavy lifting, to on-going maintenance and “tweaking.”

There will be special emphasis on the “getting it” aspect: (“Once one has the belief lodged in the belly, rather than an idea learned in the head, the rest comes naturally…”), as well as how to encourage and convince staff to “get it,” too. Sam will thoroughly discuss hiring guidelines to help insure you employ and retain people who will naturally assume your newfound “outside and slightly elevated” vantage point. Everything Sam covers will be pointed toward preventing the day-to-day fire killing found too often in small business or even in departments of large, relatively successful corporations. The ultimate goal? To stop fire-killing in order to spend time on system improvement, thus making your business efficient and profitable.

The program will provide you with all the tools you need to start “making more and working less.” Turn your hard work into smart work. Expect a day  of eye-opening, rigorous, get-down-to-it pragmatism. Come mentally and physically prepared to focus, and ready to tackle your own most sensitive business/work issues and you’ll walk away with potent tools to maximize efficiency and productivity and propel you far ahead of your industry competitors. You will leave with a different perspective of your life and work.

Cost and logistics: The Boot Camp is $1000. $500 for each additional attendee from the same business..

Note: Lodging, travel, and personal expenses are not included. Payment for the program must be received in advance.

This is important: We will be working hard to start sessions precisely on time.
